With Bold Idea, students learn computer science by creating hands-on computing projects and building relationships with technology mentors. Students participate in the ideaSpark Coding Clubs program through their Dallas ISD school or through an online Coding Club available to any north Texas student.

We partner with Dallas ISD and north Texas companies to provide girls and minority students a pathway to pursue careers requiring computer science and interpersonal skills. > Learn about Coding Clubs

Why Bold Idea

Bold Idea helps students gain confidence and essential computer science skills. As a result, they are able to create their bold ideas - from online games and apps to websites and machine learning programs. We start building student interest and skills as early as 3rd grade and continue to support them through 12th grade. As a result, they are prepared to succeed in challenging computer science and math subjects in high school and college - and ready for the workforce.

Broadening equitable student access to computer science education is critical, and not just to fill the increasing number of computing-intensive jobs in the workforce. Computer science teaches students to apply critical thinking to solve complex problems, creativity to foster new ideas, and skills to drive innovation.
