Community Partners

As a Bold Idea partner, your students will benefit from a high-quality and proven program that will grow in their interest and skill development in computer science, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. Our program blends hands-on learning in computer science and mentoring from technology professionals. Weekly sessions are held at your location, and Bold Idea serves as an after-school coding club for students. We match each community partner with a north Texas company who provides volunteer mentors and opportunities for career exploration.

  • Build multi-year partnerships with elementary and middle schools in Dallas ISD, as well as organizations that serve students in Dallas ISD

>> Bring enthusiasm for computer science and math with your students and an appreciation for collaborating with others, applying critical thinking, and communicating to an audience

>> Meet your goals in computer science and STEM education, ensuring students grow up not just using technology but learning how to create it

>> Expand opportunities for students to explore careers in technology and engineering, by working with technology mentors, taking company tours, and hearing from guest speakers

Community partners provide Bold Idea at least one of the following resources:

Student participants

Bold Idea can be offered as an after-school coding club for your 5th to 8th grade students, and we’ll provide the posters, flyers, and guest speakers to get them excited. Computer science can be learned by students of any skill level, age, gender, race, or ethnicity. Students struggling in math may find that the math used in computer science offers a different perspective.

Classroom and computers

Computer labs as well as classrooms and libraries set up with laptop computers make great learning spaces for Bold Idea. The digital tools and coding environments we use are online. We just need a dependable Internet connection.

Staff Support

A teacher or staff member serves as the advisor for the Bold Idea coding club, supporting student marketing and registration, communicating to parents, preparing for Demo Day, and coordinating weekly with volunteers.
