About Bold Idea
Founded in 2015, Bold Idea is a nonprofit closing the computer science opportunity gap for students in North Texas. Through after-school and summer programs, and mentorship from industry professionals, we prepare students-especially girls and Black and Latinx youth-for the jobs of tomorrow. Our mission is to create equity in computer science education and ensure every student has access to high-quality learning opportunities.

The Role
The Executive Director is the chief leader and strategist of Bold Idea-responsible for driving vision, cultivating partnerships, securing resources, and ensuring operational excellence. This is a role for a visionary leader who can inspire, manage complexity, and deliver measurable impact.
You will:
Lead all fundraising efforts, cultivating relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners
Serve as the public face of Bold Idea, championing our mission to diverse audiences
Partner with the Board of Directors to shape and execute long-term strategy
Oversee programs, operations, finances, and a talented team to achieve ambitious goals
Foster an inclusive, equitable culture where staff and volunteers thrive
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & External Relations
Drive fundraising strategy and execution
Develop and steward relationships with funders and partners
Oversee communications, branding, and public relations
Engage the Board in donor cultivation and outreach
Strategic Leadership
Collaborate with the Board on vision, goals, and strategic plans
Monitor organizational performance and adapt to changing needs
Strengthen governance and Board engagement
Organizational Management
Lead and support senior staff with clear goals and accountability
Manage budgets, financial health, and regulatory compliance
Direct hiring, HR, and professional development initiatives
What You Bring
4-6+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit, education, or social impact sectors
Proven fundraising success with individuals, foundations, and corporate partners with total funds in excess of $500k per year across funding sources
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and audits
Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors
A track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent
