2025 Annual Celebration Recap & Photo Gallery

On September 18, 2025, Bold Idea marked its tenth anniversary at its Annual Celebration, honoring Accenture as Corporate Partner of the Year and recognizing David Obonna with the Bold & Bright Award for outstanding achievements in coding and technology career readiness.

A Decade of Empowering Students

Since 2015, Bold Idea has served over 1,000 North Texas students through after-school ideaSpark Coding Clubs. With 1,142 volunteer mentors contributing 18,812 hours, students gain hands-on coding experience, mentorship, and confidence to pursue tech careers.

Student Success Stories

Alum Ascension Brown shared her journey from student coder to digital marketer, and David Obonna, a rising senior at Wylie High School, was honored for his advanced coding skills and commitment to STEM.

Honoring Volunteers and Partners

This year’s Volunteers of the Year included Caleb Ginn, Lauren Ruffner, Chase Manseth, and Dennesia Turner. Accenture was recognized for its funding, mentorship, and leadership support, directly impacting hundreds of students.

Closing the Opportunity Gap

Bold Idea continues to expand, reaching 15 Dallas ISD schools this year and training teachers to integrate computer science into classrooms. Thanks to attendees, the event raised $31,010, fueling the next decade of opportunity for Dallas students.

Bold Idea looks forward to inspiring even more students to become creators, problem-solvers, and leaders in technology.
