Volunteer Opportunity:
Demo Day Project Manager
Bold Idea is seeking a volunteer who has experience organizing program events to serve as project manager for Demo Day Spring 2018 on Saturday, May 12. The volunteer will take the lead in planning and coordinating activities leading up to Demo Day, as well as the successful execution of the event. The Project Manager will have the support of a volunteer team and program advisors, working collaboratively with them to ensure the event's success.
Term: January - May 2018
Volunteers should have:
- Experience with event planning on a limited budget
- Good communication skills
- Ability to problem solve
- Demonstrate dependability, honesty, and credibility
- Understanding of the Bold Idea mission and program goals
- Availability on May 12 and for planning meetings
We will depend on the program site consultants to:
- Support Bold Idea staff in securing event sponsors
- Recruit and delegate tasks to a volunteer team
- Manage the event budget
- Secure event venue with consideration to event requirements
- Create event registration and promote the event to volunteers, families, donors and special guests
- Create event materials, including agendas and slideshows
- Work alongside Bold Idea mentors to coordinate student demos
- Coordinate with vendors, including venues, food/beverage providers and door prize donors
- Evaluate the success and opportunities for improvement
