Calling all Python/Django Developers!

Bold Idea is seeking experienced web developers, particularly Python/Django, to support maintenance and new feature development for Hive, Bold Idea's student and volunteer registration system.

HIVE HACKATHON - Saturday, JUNE 23

We are holding an all-day "hackathon" for Hive on June 23 to get new developers familiar with Hive, and to work on some features in our backlog. It's a great opportunity to use your talents to give back to the community!

What is Hive?
Hive is Bold Idea's web-based system for student registrations, volunteer sign-ups, as well as the program delivery dashboard. It's built using Django, a full-stack Python web framework.

What will we be working on?
We have a backlog of features that we'd like to have finished before Fall registration. Whether you're a Django veteran, or just looking to brush up on your web dev skills, you can help! This is also a great way to connect and network with other python developers. By helping out, you will be added as a contributor to the Hive project team on LinkedIn.

When, how long, and will there be food?
We've reserved the Wilson Carriage House (courtesy of the Meadows Foundation) in Old East Dallas, from 9am-9pm. Come when you can, and stay as long as you like. Coffee and breakfast will be provided, as well as pizza for lunch. If enough people want to stick around late, we can break for dinner and keep hacking away into the night!

What should I bring?
Bring whatever dev setup works best for you (laptops/towers/monitors/mice/etc)! We'll have about 8 rectangular tables set up w/ power strips.
